What is mold release wax? What’s the principle of its demolding?

Mold release wax is a mixture of synthetic wax and silicone oil. It’s demolding principle is to separate the product and mold with synthetic wax and guarantee the lubricity with silicone oil.

Why is mold release wax used by so many companies?
Mold release wax was a technical product of the middle of the last century. It is a first-generation product for demolding. Lots of workers at the production line used it early, so it became very popular since then. Until 2000 year, the second-generation mold release agent was introduced into the market of China, therefore the features of this new technical release agent are not known well by peoples.

What are the critical defects of mold release wax?
● Low demolding efficiency: Waxing is required every 1-3 times of demolding. Waste much time to repeat waxing.
● Long waxing time : It consists of two procedures: waxing + polishing
● Quick mold smudging: The 20-50μm wax coat is neither oilproof nor antifouling. Thus the mold gets dirty very quickly and mold cleaning becomes a painful job for workers.
● Easy transfer to the product: When it is above 80℃, it changes into liquid, which gets mixed with the resin and solidifies on the product surface. Subsequently, the wax residues must be polished away from product surface thoroughly. As a result, a lot of polishing must be done later, which causes a serious waste of manpower!
